Bristan, a member of the Bristan Group, must be Britain’s largest
supplier of
bathroom and kitchen taps. They were established in Tamworth,
Staffordshire in 1977 and it’s doubtful that anyone living in the UK for a
number of years has never come across an example of their work.
Nowadays, they offer a wide choice of kitchen mixer taps in various styles,
for those with either contemporary or traditional tastes. They even
manufacture a high quality budget “utility” range aimed at property
developers and the like.
Their 1901 is a classic in the truest sense of the word and is to be found
in Bristan’s traditional range of taps. This timeless design is one of their
best sellers, and remains to be so year after year. If Victorian styling
will enhance your kitchen, then something from the 1901 range should suit
you to a tee.
For those with more contemporary tastes they have several options to look
at, all of which will give a nice modern look to your kitchen sink. Many of
these designs are based on the more traditional, swan-neck outlet but there
are a few of their models that break the mould, for example the Orbix and
the G-Type.
Most, if not all, of their kitchen taps are supplied with a 5-year warranty
and some are fitted using Bristan’s xchange system which, means that should
a tap need to be replaced, there is no need to turn off the water at the
mains stop-tap. Simply unscrewing the locking screw will allow you to
quickly remove the taps while the valves built into the base will prevent
any water from escaping.
